A well-known company, Jolly Rancher, has a very interesting past that most people have never heard of before. Jolly Rancher, a company that sells candies, gummies, and lollipops, wasn’t always just a candy business. It started as an ice cream shop in Golden, Colorado. The company was founded on May 28, 1949. The name “Jolly Rancher” was chosen to evoke a friendly, Western feel for customers.
They had a successful first season selling ice cream in the summer, but as winter approached, the business began to struggle due to the harsh Colorado weather. The company then pivoted to selling chocolate. Eventually, as we all know, they developed hard candy formulas, starting with Fire Stix Kisses and later the modern Jolly Rancher. The hard candy we have today was launched on November 22, 1949. It has since become the best-selling hard candy in the USA.
I asked a few people for their opinion on this question: What is the best Jolly Rancher flavor?
- Remi Ott: “Watermelon or blue raspberry because those flavors aren’t too sour, and I don’t like the aftertaste of green apple, cherry, and grape.”
- Katie Ulrich: “Watermelon because it’s the only one that doesn’t taste super fake. It also makes you feel closer to summer, and it just gives good vibes.”
- Kenzy Thompson: “Watermelon because it tastes better than the rest, and I like watermelon.”
- Kenzie Gerdes: “Watermelon because it just tastes the best.”
- Bella Burnham: “Watermelon and blue raspberry because they stain my tongue, and they taste the best.”
- Carly Zobrist: “My favorite Jolly Rancher flavor is watermelon because I like watermelon flavors, and it’s just tasty!”
- Noel Gerber: “Watermelon precisely because it is exquisitely scrumptious and tasty like none other. It is also immaculately the best flavor of Jolly Rancher on Earth to enjoy and appreciate. Also, the other flavors are overrated and not nearly as delicious.”
- Bentley Brace: “Green apple because it tastes the best.”
- Dalyah Knapp: “Blue raspberry because it makes you look like you ate a Smurf, and it’s fun!”
- Brooklyn Kemp: “Watermelon because it’s kinda sour.”
- Sage Edwards: “Blue raspberry because it’s just better like that.”
- Maddox McClallen: “My favorite Jolly Rancher flavor is the magnificent blue because it makes my taste buds tingle and my heart twinkle.”
