Fortnite has been falling off pretty badly recently. If you don’t know what Fortnite is, it’s a shooting game where 100 players compete in a free-for-all, and if you get 1st place, you win. Fortnite came out in 2017, but it was originally conceived as a co-op survival game called “Save the World,” which was released in 2011. Later, they decided to make the free-to-play battle royale mode.
The game has different modes like solos, duos, and squads, and they later added trios as well. There are also different chapters, but after Chapter 1, they started focusing heavily on collaborations. Fortnite also does special holiday updates and adds new game modes during those times.
Recently, they’ve made some “brainrot” collaborations, which haven’t been very well received. The original creator of Fortnite, Donald Mustard, left about four years ago, and ever since then, the game hasn’t felt the same. They’ve also started copying ideas from other games, and many people feel their versions are worse.
Fortnite used to have a really good storyline, which was a big part of the game. One major storyline focused on “The Seven,” a group of heroes trying to save the island. However, after a while, they stopped appearing, and the storyline has gone downhill.
About a month ago, around 1,000 employees were laid off because the company was spending more money than it was making. Fortnite also introduced other game modes like Rocket Racing (similar to Rocket League), a music mode, and LEGO Fortnite. However, some of these modes may be removed due to the layoffs.
It’s crazy how much Fortnite has fallen off, and in the future, they might even stop making updates. That’s what’s been going on with Fortnite lately.
