Jarek and I chose to write about the St. Louis Cardinals’ 2025 season. Currently, the Cardinals are having an average time in spring training in Jupiter, Florida. In case you haven’t been keeping up with the Cardinals lately, they recently traded away seven-time All-Star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt to the New York Yankees. Many fans have been upset with the President of the Cardinals, Joe Moezalik, who claims, “We are in the middle of a rebuilding phase.” This is very true, as the Cardinals have a few upcoming young prospects, such as 2024 seventh pick JJ Whetherholt, Mayson Winn, Jordan Walker, Victor Scott II, and Lars Nootbaar.
Now, the main question people are asking is: “Could the Cardinals be good this season?” So, Jarek and I decided to interview Cardinal fans Max Brown, Joseph Elven Jr., Beni Schrock, and Alex Schrock.
First, Max Brown responded with: “I think they shouldn’t have been stupid and got rid of all their good players. We mocked the Cubs, but then we did what they did. I think they could be decent if they keep Arenado, and since we have Jordan, Mayson, and Contreras, but we will probably still stink, so I don’t know. We’ll have to see.”
Next, we asked Alex Schrock, and he told us, “They’re going to suck because they always suck.”
We then interviewed his twin, Benjamin Schrock, and he told us, “Meh, they’ve been good and bad.”
Lastly, we asked this question to a die-hard Cardinals fan, Joseph Elven Jr. He responded with: “I believe that the Cards will do a good job. I don’t look at the season based on spring training because it’s just trying out new players. I also have high hopes for Victor Scott II and Pedro Pagés. I do wish Goldie was still with us. I was very bummed out he got traded. I hope Arenado will do great this year and get another Gold Glove. But even though we traded many of our good players, we still have Winn, Arenado, Siani, Gorman, etc. I mainly think the Cards will at least be playing in the wild card.”
The Cardinals kick off opening day on March 27 at home against the Minnesota Twins. Go Cards Go!
