One week, we asked which students and staff preferred: movies or TV shows. So, this week, we decided to ask the question: Are movies or books better? We asked two 7th graders, two 8th graders, and two teachers. These were their responses.
- Harlow Martin: “Books, because you can read them for longer.”
- Adam Perry: “I like books better because they explain the action more.”
- Katelyn Brugger: “Movies, because books take too long to read and they’re boring, and movies are fun and cool.”
- Gabe Heider: “Movies because you actually get to see them.”
- Mr. Heider: “Movies. I’m a very slow reader; it takes me a long time to read a book.”
- Mr. Gundy: “I prefer to watch a movie because I am not an avid reader, so I’m more entertained by a movie at this point in my life.”

I would say the books are better but it is cool to see the director’s interpretation of literature with effects and sound that can change what you thought when you originally read the book. Also, movies can be watched by an entire family. Hence, there are good arguments for both sides.

Agree, books and movies are both good, but books take the win because as you read it helps improve your creativity.
