Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks are both really good, but which one is better? Dunkin’ Donuts was created by William Rosenberg, who opened his first coffee and donut shop, called Open Kettle, in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1948. It was renamed Dunkin’ Donuts in 1950 to reflect customers’ habit of dunking donuts in coffee. About 45% of people in the United States prefer Dunkin’ over Starbucks.
Starbucks was created in 1971 by Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl, and Gordon Bowker. For the first decade, Starbucks only sold roasted coffee beans—no drinks yet. About 48% of people in the United States prefer Starbucks over Dunkin’.
We interviewed some people, and here are their opinions:
Rome Leman:
“Dunkin’ because they have really good refreshers, and their sausage, egg, and cheese bagel is bussin—bussin, goated, and loaded.”
Audery Palomo:
“I say Starbucks because they have better drinks that are more delicious, plus cake pops are so cutesy.”
Faith Follmer:
“Starbucks. It’s really good and has a lot of good options.”
Ayla Payne:
“I think Starbucks only because I don’t like the drinks from Dunkin’.”
