This week, Harper and I interviewed Mia Funderburk. She is in 5th grade. We interviewed her because she is the funniest person to talk to. We asked her various questions about her likes and dislikes, and these were her answers:
What is your favorite color?
“Purple, because I was obsessed with it in kindergarten!”
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
She responded, “To rewind time, because when you do something embarrassing, you can rewind.”
What’s your favorite movie, and why?
She said Jaws because she thought it was suspenseful.
If you were a rainbow, what colors would you be and why?
“Purple — it’s my favorite!”
If you could have a baby hippo as a pet, would you say yes, and why?
Her response was no, because she doesn’t want to pick up its poop.
What is your dream vacation destination?
“Skiing. I’ve only been once and want to go again!”
What is your opinion on seagulls?
She said, “I don’t care for them.”
Who would people say your celebrity look-alike is?
Her response was anyone who is a Black girl.
What’s your best joke?
“What do you call a dog with no legs? It doesn’t matter what you call it—he isn’t coming.”
What would you do if you found a penguin in your freezer, and why?
She responded, “I would be confused about how it got there and mail it back to the Arctic.”
