The District 140 website has a whole host of interesting information.
Firstly, you can find typical details such as the number of schools (5), the graduation rate (92%), and the growth IAR charts (63 ELA & 56 Math). Additionally, information about Gum and headphones usage (Banned), Tardiness (Receive 3 instances and face a referral and detention), Dress Code (Standard), and graduation requirements (Only disciplinary issues and failing classes can result in being held back). Electronics are to be kept in lockers, and Backpacks are prohibited. There is also a Student Handbook available.
Upon reviewing the district website, I discovered details about district finances, including the budget ($7,000,000 allocated for education), the Vendors associated with the school (Primary businesses), Teacher’s salaries (Down 6th in the drive), and the board policy manual (Tedious). Teacher periods are discussed on Page 59, the official school calendar is provided, and information on teacher education levels (52.9% with bachelor’s degrees and 46.1% with master’s degrees) is available. The average teacher salary is $60.8k per year.
To my surprise, I was already familiar with some of this information, but I did not expect to find such comprehensive details relating to budgets and salaries. This information was sourced from the student handbook, the District 140 website, Illinois report card.
