Running in to the 2024 Track and Field Season

We asked some athletic 8th graders some questions about track. We inquired about whether they planned on participating in track, their favorite event, and what they were most excited for this season in track.

Here are their responses:

  • Noah Purfield said that he might do track. He mentioned that his favorite event is the 4×400 relay, and he is most excited for running.
  • Moses Dohner said that he is doing track. He expressed that his favorite event is high jump, and he is excited to try to go back to state for high jump.
  • Finn Hoffman said that he will not do track, but his favorite event is javelin. There was no answer to the last question.
  • Hank Wettstein said he might do track. He stated that shot put is his favorite event, and he is most excited to hang out with friends.
  • Maddie Myer said she will do track. Her favorite event is discus, and she hopes to go to state again.
  • Kia Boles said she would obviously do track. Her favorite event is the 400 meter race, and she is looking forward to Fallon.

These are just a few of the individuals who are considering participating in track and field. We would like to encourage more students to join track this year. Mr. and Mrs. Bellini, Mrs. Hoelscher, and Mr. Ferguson are all excellent coaches who would be delighted to see many kids giving track a try. It is a highly enjoyable sport that also provides an opportunity to spend time with friends during meets.
