This week for Hornet Spotlight, we interviewed 8th grader Eli Knapp.
Our first question for Eli was, “What is your favorite show?” He thought for a moment, then decided on “Andy Griffith.” Our next question was, “What do you do in your free time?” He told us when he gets the chance to — as he doesn’t have a lot of free time — he enjoys spending it outside. Our third question for him was, “What is your favorite subject?” He responded, “Algebra; it’s straightforward, and little confusion is involved.” We then asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” He said he would like to pour concrete. Quick authors note: the next questions are rather odd, but they are entertaining nonetheless.
“Would you rather cut off an ear or cut off a toe?” “Cut off an ear because toes help you balance.”
“What time do you wake up each morning?” “6:10.”
“What is your bedtime?” “Around 10.”
“What’s your shoe size?” “A size 6.”
“Have you watched Spongebob?” “I have, and to be honest, I didn’t particularly enjoy it.”
“What month is your birthday in?” “November.”
“What is one interesting fact about you that no one knows?”
“Hmm..,” Eli hesitated for a moment, “I built 2 docks, 1 rope swing, and did the electrical work on a pavilion this summer.”
“What is your biggest fear?” “Having to stay in the hospital for multiple months or years.”
“What are your family’s Christmas traditions?” “All of my cousins and I go to our grandparent’s house to spend the night.”
To conclude, the last question we asked him was about his favorite book series, which he said, “Ranger’s Apprentice”.
