Interesting Fact: Customers buy nearly 214 million pounds of potatoes just in the United States alone around the time of Thanksgiving. To put that astronomical number into perspective, 2.1 million pounds is slightly heavier than a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, which weighs around 204 million pounds, based on estimates made by 24/7 Wall Street, a financial news and opinion article site. Although we don’t think that potatoes would be suitable for transoceanic airplane transport.
Fifth-grader Rigg Stoller said, “Turkey.” Another fifth-grader, Eleanor Kemp, said, “Oreo pudding.”
Two sixth-graders, Tucker Knecht and Brynlee Blunier, both said mashed potatoes.
The seventh graders we asked, Katie Ulrich and Jordan Schulz, had good answers. Katie said, “Buffalo Chicken Dip,” and Jordan said, “Jello.”
Blade Zimmerman and Ella Stalter had classic answers. Blade said his favorite food was turkey, and Ella chose rolls as her favorite.
