Hello EMS!
For this week’s Hornet Spotlight, we have chosen… (Drum roll, please) Sophie Gould! Sophie is a 7th grader here at EMS. We asked her a few random questions, and here are her responses:
1. What is your favorite color?
A: “I’d say a medium-dark green.”
2. If you had to spend a year in a haunted house, what would you bring with you and why?
A: “I would bring a whole bunch of snacks and rom-com books to keep me busy and happy! LOL”
3. If you could adopt a mythical animal, what would it be?
A: “I would adopt a hippocampus because it would be so fun to ride a horse in the water!” (A hippocampus is a horse with a fish tail.)
4. What is your favorite book or book series?
A: “I loved reading the Blair Mallory series by Linda Howard because it was so suspenseful, and I loved the true crime portion of the series.”
5. If you could make one fictional character real, who would it be and why?
A: “If I could make any book character real, I would make Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson and the Olympians come to life. I’d choose her because I have so many questions while reading the series, and she and I are pretty similar.”
6. If you could scream a song at the Grand Canyon, what would it be and why?
A: “Well, yesterday me would say No Scrubs by TLC, but today me says Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not by Thompson Square.”
7. Who would you bring to the Grand Canyon?
A: “I couldn’t choose just one person, so I’d say my top 5: Colette W., Lucy Wettstein, Tess H., William M., and Josiah S., because they are all my closest friends. I have a lot more I would take though, and it would be so funny to see how the guys would act.”
8. What is your favorite phrase or quote?
A: “Honestly, my favorite would be the verse Revelation 21:4.”
9. Favorite ice cream flavor?
A: “I loved the ice cream my mom made. It was blackberry, lemon, and banana. It was SO GOOD!”
10. Biggest fear or adrenaline rush?
A: “My biggest adrenaline rush was when my dad convinced me to go on Fireball at the Pumpkin Fest. After we got off, my mom got me to go with her on Rock Star. I swear some people never grow up, but in a good way!”
