The gold chain—how about that! It dates all the way back to 2500 B.C. and has long symbolized status, wealth, and power. Today, gold chains are trending once again. Historically, they were first discovered in Mesopotamia and Ancient Babylonia.

According to artificial intelligence, here are the different types of gold chains and tips on how to take care of them:

Types of Gold Chains

Cuban Link: Thick, interlocking, flattened links. Known for their bold, prominent look and popular in both standard and diamond-cut variations.
Rope: Small links twisted together to resemble a rope. This timeless style often comes in glitter rope variations.
Figaro: An Italian design with two or three smaller circular links alternating with one longer oval link.
Herringbone: Flat, parallel, tightly woven links that create a smooth, fluid texture.
Box: Square links resembling tiny boxes. A durable, classic choice—especially for pendants.
