This week, we wrote an article on World Day!
World Day is when the 7th graders research a country they read a book about. They had many requirements, including decorating a large display board and making some traditional food from their country.
A few of the things they had to research for their boards included what a typical day in the life of a person is like, education for students, the healthcare system, traditions and customs, and holidays celebrated in the country.
Many of the presentations also included an interactive component, such as a song they played, a dance they performed, or an important item that represents—or comes from—their country. We had the opportunity to walk around and ask many of the students a few questions.
We asked:
-
What book did you read, and what did you learn from it?
-
What was your favorite part to research?
-
Were you happy or disappointed with the country you got?
