We are now heading into our second month of track and field, and many athletes have already earned several new PRs. There are 57 girls and 54 boys competing on our track and field team. Overall, there have been 100 new PRs set by all athletes combined! One school record has even been broken—by Kenzie Gerdes!
Kenzie broke the school pole vault record of 9’6” by vaulting over 10’0″, so she is now ranked first in our division in the state. I asked her what she was thinking about while vaulting that height, and she responded, “Just get over it and you’ll be fine.”
I also interviewed many athletes about their PRs. I asked them:
-
What event did you PR in?
-
What was your old PR?
-
What is your new PR?
