At the time of this article, Field Day is just around the corner—and so is summer break.
Field Day activities can include a variety of things, like fishing, for example. It’s probably the most fun part of the whole year—not just because we’re leaving school, but also because we don’t have to do any work or use our heads. (I never do anyway!)
Since there’s so much to do on this day, we’re going to cover what activities are available and people’s favorites—starting with the favorites.
The first person said their favorite thing to do was fishing because it’s fun. Another person also said fishing was their favorite, because it runs in their family and it’s very soothing. We asked one person who said they didn’t know. Then we asked Mrs. Worner what she liked doing, and she said being in the sun was the best.
The last person we asked said fishing, because you can talk to people, maybe catch a big one, and show other fishermen your tackle box. Not going to lie—the fish there are diabolical, and they never bite at any good bait.
Next, we’re going to cover what activities will most likely be available, based on last year. At the lower lake, there is typically basketball, walking, and a form of baseball. If you go into the woods, that’s where disc golf tends to happen. Upper Lake Park has the playground, volleyball, and fishing. Some people, though, just walk around.
Usually, it is very warm and wonderful outside, and it is very rare that Field Day is canceled due to bad weather. Often, the whole event lasts from mid-morning to early or mid-afternoon.
So—from fishing to disc golf—what’s your favorite?
