A Day in the Life of Mr. Troutt
This week, we asked Mr. Troutt some questions about his daily life.
How does Mr. Troutt start his morning?
He always wakes up with a new song in his head. When we asked him what it was today, he said it was Romeo’s Tune by Steve Forbert. As for his morning routine, Mr. Troutt shared, “I’m almost always awake by five. Then I check my blood sugar, take my insulin, brush my teeth, and take a shower.” For breakfast, he typically has an egg, cheese, and Canadian bacon sandwich or beef jerky and a cheese stick. But his favorite breakfast? Cold pizza!
A peek into Mr. Troutt’s day
Mr. Troutt leaves for school around seven and arrives about 25 minutes later. In the afternoon, he heads home sometime after 4 p.m. and is usually home by 5 p.m.—unless he has a scholastic bowl match or practice. Once home, he takes his dog out and plays fetch for a little while, then makes dinner and eats. Afterward, he typically does some school work or relaxes with a TV show. He said he’s usually in bed by 10, but it’s more often closer to 9:30.
