We interviewed and questioned a few students and staff members from EMS to find out their favorite color and the reasons behind their choice. Some of the people we asked included Ms. Worner, Kaiya Schumacher, Carly Zobrist, Charlotte Maske, Bristol Wiegand, Brynn Wilson, Kenzie Gerdes, Bella Burnham, Mr. Gundy, Ms. Haggerty, Mr. Heider, Katie Ulrich, Harlow Martin, and Emma Sweeney.
Here’s what they had to say:
- Ms. Worner: “Blue because it reminds me of the ocean.”
- Kaiya Schumacher: “Green because there are a lot of different shades of green, and it is our school color.”
- Bristol Wiegand: “I like the color blue because it’s really pretty, and I love it.”
- Charlotte Maske: “White because it’s so calming and pretty.”
- Brynn Wilson: “Green because it’s calming.”

- Kenzie Gerdes: “Navy blue because it’s pretty.”
- Bella Burnham: “Light blue because it is pretty and reminds me of the beach.”
- Mr. Gundy: “Red because of the Chicago Bulls, and I picked my favorite color in second grade.”
- Ms. Haggerty: “Pink because it’s always used as a happy color and not as a sad color.”
- Katie Ulrich: “I like aqua because it reminds me of the beach and mermaids, and it just makes me happy and feel like summer is coming.”
- Mr. Heider: “Blue and green because of the Chicago Cubs and the Eureka Hornets.”
- Harlow Martin: “Yellow because it reminds me of summer, and it’s nostalgic.”
- Emma Sweeney: “Purple because there are a lot of different shades of purple, and it is really pretty.”
Conclusion
Based on the responses we gathered, blue emerged as the most popular color, with five of the fourteen people choosing it as their favorite. Their reasons included its connection to the ocean, its beauty, and the variety of shades available. This aligns with online research, which suggests that nearly 40–44% of people consider blue their favorite color.
So, what do you think the best color is?
