For this week’s Hornet Spotlight, we interviewed Jack Wurmnest, a 7th grader and member of the Scholastic Bowl team! We asked him some fun questions to learn more about him. Here’s what he had to say:
Getting to Know Jack
- Favorite color? “My favorite color is red because it matches a lot of things.”
- Favorite food? “Pizza, because it is simple, and you can get pan, Chicago-style, and many more varieties.”
Sports and Activities
- What sports do you enjoy? “It depends, but I can enjoy activities like fishing and disc golf, though some don’t consider these to be sports. If not, I can sit through and enjoy a nice EHS football game.”
- What do you usually do at recess? “Most of the time, I walk around and talk to Tanner. Occasionally, I play tag or four square.”
Thoughts on School
- Do you like school? “It just depends on what mood I’m in.”
- What’s your favorite subject? “Social Studies, because I enjoy history.”
- Who is your favorite teacher? “I plead the 5th.” (If you ask me, that’s a pretty smart answer!)
- How could the school improve? “I think the school could definitely put more money into education, pay for staff and other things, and take some money out of sports to do so.”
- What day should we have off from school? “Friday, because we already have the last few hours of the day as a weekend, plus most students are worn out by then.”
- Do you think school is fun? “School can be fun depending on what we are learning or doing in class or at recess.”
That wraps up this Hornet Spotlight on Jack Wurmnest! Stay tuned for more student interviews.
