Mr. Troutt is the 8th grade social studies teacher and Scholastic Bowl coach, and I interviewed him.
First, I asked what the dumbest thing he has ever done is.
“Forgot the words to a song when I was singing a solo in a chorus concert,” he said.
Next, I asked what his favorite thing to do outside of school is and why.
“Playing golf with my wife. It gets us outdoors, doing something together,” he answered.
After that, I asked what his dream vacation is.
“Go to Australia and ride the Indian-Pacific Railroad across the continent.”
Then, I asked what his favorite food is.
“Pizza. It can be made in so many ways.”
Next, I asked what his favorite memory is.
“Getting married to my best friend.”
After that, I asked if he could change one thing about school, what would it be.
“Getting students to understand that teachers don’t want them to be perfect, but to simply give their best effort.”
Then, I asked what his favorite movie is.
“I love too many movies to choose one. I’m not a fan of horror/slasher movies. I prefer movies that have a good storyline.”
Next, I asked what his favorite animal is.
“Dogs. They always act happy to see you.”
I then asked what his favorite ice cream flavor is.
“Mint Chocolate Chip. Need I say more???”
Finally, I asked what his favorite clothing brand is.
“Dockers. The khakis and shorts are so comfortable.”
