Mrs. Dohner
By: Jarek Klaus and Hunter Wurmnest
My partner Hunter Wurmnest and I chose to interview Mrs. Dohner for the 8th-grade Hornet Spotlight.
Our first question for her was, “What is your biggest fear and why?” She replied, “Being stuck underwater (or anywhere) and not being able to breathe. This most likely stems from being diagnosed with asthma at a young age.”
Then we asked her, “If you could live anywhere, where would you live and why?” She replied, “The mountains of Azerbaijan, since it’s Mr. Dohner’s new favorite place.”
Next, we asked Mrs. Dohner, “What is your favorite movie and why?” She told us, “I don’t really love watching movies (I don’t sit still very well), but I do like Disney’s Robin Hood.”
Moving on, we asked her, “What is your favorite food and why?” She replied, “Salmon—I enjoy trying it prepared in a variety of ways.”
Our fourth question for Mrs. Dohner was, “What is your favorite joke of all time?” She said, “Knock knock. Who’s there? Boo. Boo who? You don’t have to cry about it!”
Our next question for her was, “What is your dream superpower and why?” She responded, “Teleportation. We have a busy family schedule, and if I could cut down on drive time, my life would be easier :-)”
Heading to our sixth question, we asked Mrs. Dohner, “Who is your favorite singer and why?” Mrs. Dohner replied, “I can’t name just one—I love a variety of musicians.”
Then we asked her, “If you had to listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?” She said, “The hymn Be Thou My Vision would be a constant reminder of where my priorities should be.”
Finally, we asked her, “If you won the lottery, what would you spend it on and why?” She replied, “I would spend some of it on a few nice vacations with my family to make memories, renovate our house, and probably save for my kids’ college tuition!”
We hope you learned something you didn’t know about Mrs. Dohner.
