Super Bowl Halftime Show
This year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show was performed by Kendrick Lamar and SZA. It was Kendrick Lamar’s second time performing at the Super Bowl; his last performance was in 2022, when he performed alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, and Eminem. SZA, a five-time Grammy-winning R&B artist, also performed with Kendrick.
Kendrick began his performance with a song from his new album, GNX, titled “Squabble Up.” He then transitioned to one of his most popular songs from his 2019 album, “HUMBLE.” Next, he performed “DNA,” the second track from the same album. Kendrick also performed his first diss track aimed at Drake, titled “Euphoria.” He then teased the beat to his hit song “Not Like Us,” which won five Grammys. Kendrick followed this with back-to-back songs from GNX, “Man at the Garden” and “Peekabo.”
Then, SZA joined him, and they performed a recent song from her new album titled “Luther.” The duo also performed their viral collaboration “All The Stars.” Kendrick’s second-to-last song was the highly anticipated “Not Like Us,” which marked the final diss track of the rap battle. He ended the performance with his most successful song from GNX, “TV Off.”
We then asked a few people for their thoughts on the Super Bowl halftime show. We gave them three options: good, mid, and bad. Out of the 12 people we asked, only one person, Alex Schrock, said they thought it was “good.” Five people, Colin Risk, Dierks Dingledine, Chuck Dunbar, Jayden Bunting, and Carson Bucher, said it was “mid.” Lastly, six people—Brayden Bockover, Eli Sliger, Jack Wurmnest, Ethan Otto, Bryson Stiger, and Mrs. Worner—said it was “bad.” This means 8.3% of people thought it was good, 41.7% thought it was mid, and 50% thought it was bad.
