Schools are generally good, but there are many areas that could be improved. For example, having a school counselor available could help support stressed students. There could also be more extracurricular activities to give students something to do after school and help them get through the day. Additionally, the overall environment of a school could be improved. Teachers can provide positive feedback on students’ work, highlighting what is good about it and what can be improved. This would help students feel proud of their efforts. While many of these aspects are already established in our school, there’s always room for improvement. To get some perspectives, I interviewed students and teachers about potential improvements for our school.
Jack Wurmnest: “I think we should put more money into education than sports. We put too much money into sports and other extracurricular activities, and not enough into education.”
Tucker Knecht: “I think we can improve the outside basketball hoops.”
Hailey Zimmerman: “The school lunches need to be changed because we have about the same thing every week.”
Brady Thompson: “I think there should be a new gym so the wrestlers have an area of their own.”
Crey Leman: “There should be fewer strict rules because there isn’t much freedom here.”
Michael Curry: “I believe we should improve the library. We need more variety of books.”
Brooklyn Kemp: “I think we should stop doing MAP testing.”
Savannah Rumbold: “Please make it so less people are being bullied for being in special education class or need a little extra help with something.”
