As the 2024-2025 cheerleading season comes to an end, I interviewed several cheerleaders about how their season went, their coaches and teammates, and what they are looking forward to in the years of cheerleading to come.
The first person I interviewed was 8th grader Miley Knecht, who shared how cheerleading has been for her. When I asked her about her favorite part of the season, she said it was learning skills she never thought she would, and how much the team has grown and improved. I can certainly see this in their complicated routines; they are a great group. Another question I asked her was about her team and coaches, and how they have helped her improve. She said, “My team and coaches constantly push me to be a better cheerleader. My coaches also tell us that we are doing very advanced stunts, and that we should be proud of our progress…”
Another person who answered some questions for this article is Charlee Plaisted. She said that one of her favorite things about this season was learning to base, despite her height. She also shared how amazing her team has been. “My favorite part of this season was probably finding a new group of people that I can call more than friends. I loved working with each and every single one of them, and I’m sad to see the end of this amazing season.”
The final person I asked questions to was Audrey Palomo, who said that cheering and stunting at the boys’ basketball games was her favorite part of the season. She also said, “I’m looking forward to seeing new people improve in cheerleading and getting to see my friends return!” when I asked her what she was looking forward to in future seasons of cheerleading.
In conclusion, congratulations to all the cheerleaders on a great season!
