What is the best gaming console? Some might say Xbox, PS, Nintendo, etc., but what is the best?
To determine which is better, 7 8th-grade middle school students were tested on which device is the best overall, based on ratings out of 10, portability, and suitability for home gaming.
The devices tested were: Nintendo Switch, PS, Xbox, iPhone, tablet, PC, and the classic Sega SG-1000 (for devices with multiple versions, students were asked to choose their favorite model).
For the 1-10 rating, PC won with comments such as “lots of games” and “they are fun.” Regarding portability, an unexpected tie occurred between the Nintendo Switch and iPhone as the highest choices, while PC and tablet ranked the lowest.
Regarding home gaming, a striking 49.9% voted for PlayStation as the best, with Xbox and tablet tied for the lowest.
So, what is the best console? After considering all the ratings, the overall winner—based on the most positive responses, highest star ratings, and best overall percentage—was the laptop, as “it’s a good gaming platform” and “they have games consoles don’t,” according to the people who rated it.
