Since we are just beginning the season, I interviewed the other members of the Scholastic Bowl team.
Jack Wurmnest: “I joined Scholastic Bowl because I know random trivia.”
Michael Curry: “I did Scholastic Bowl last year and liked it because I love learning and trivia. I think the team will do well this year.”
Mr. Troutt: “My favorite part of coaching Scholastic Bowl is the surprise students get when they take a wild guess at a question and are correct. Sometimes, that success leads to more confidence and a willingness to take new risks on questions they might know but are unsure about. Our success this season will depend on how much we improve throughout the season. Do we keep learning and growing in areas where we need to improve, or do we decide we already know everything and stop pushing ourselves? That is the big question.”
Corben Roberts: “I did it for fun, and I think we will win state.”
James (Alden) Harmon: “I joined Scholastic Bowl because of my strong interest in trivia and game shows. I am expecting our team to do great and maybe even make it to state.”
In summary, most people in Scholastic Bowl are interested in trivia and feel that the year will be a good one.
