Scholastic Bowl is currently being discussed at EMS, and some students may need help understanding what it is. To clarify, we interviewed Mr. Trout about the competition.
Scholastic Bowl is a trivia competition that covers topics such as math, pop culture, and history. Last Wednesday, Mr. Trout held a tryout to give us a better understanding of what Scholastic Bowl is all about. While the team can consist of multiple members, only five players can participate in each game.
Similar to other sports, Scholastic Bowl has both home and away games. During the competition, teams are asked questions on the following topics: history, pop culture, math, geography, and science. Teams can discuss their answers with teammates before buzzing in. The games continue until one team reaches 305 points (with questions worth 2 to 5 points, depending on their difficulty) or until all the questions have been answered.
To be eligible to participate on the team, members must maintain good grades and stay out of trouble. If you’re interested in joining, you can sign up with Mr. Trout at a later date.
