We asked some of the staff members at EMS about what they wanted to be when they grew up and why they became a teacher.
Mrs. Ogg: Teacher
Mrs. Bellini: A veterinarian. A high school chemistry teacher was a big influence and changed her mind.
Mr. Heider: A baseball player, but “Because I wasn’t good enough” didn’t work out. (Don’t worry, he laughs this off.)
Mrs. Worner: Astronaut
Mrs. Weech: A NICU nurse, but became a teacher because she likes working with kids.
Ms. Lucas: Teacher
Mrs. Weaver: An author. She became a teacher because one in a thousand books gets published, so she decided she could make more money teaching.
Mrs. Zehr: A DJ on a radio station, but became a teacher because she likes working with kids and reading books.
Mrs. Selvey: Nurse or zookeeper, but became a teacher because she enjoys working with kids and helping them learn.
Mrs. Fitz: Lawyer, but became a teacher because she’s always been pretty bossy, and she also wanted to be a teacher when she was a kid.
Mr. Bayer: Teacher
Mrs. Blunier: Teacher
Mrs. Bradford: Teacher
Mr. Trout: NASCAR driver, but became a teacher because that’s what he feels he was called to do.
Mrs. Haggerty: Real estate agent, but became a teacher because she loves sharing her passion and inspiring others.
