Do you like the cold weather or warm weather, and why? People generally prefer a warm to a cold climate, as shown by the tendency to vacation in tropical areas during the winter and to move to the south upon retirement. Warm Weather Affects Mental Health. The belief that sunshine equals happiness is not entirely unfounded. Mid-range temperatures of 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit provide a boost in mood. But, researchers say close to 20% of the global population (about 1.5 billion people) show no signs of α-actinin-3 in their bodies due to “a mutation in the gene that codes for it.” So, these individuals have more slow-twitch fibers in their muscles, making them much more resistant to both cold weather and overall. So many people have mixed feelings about warm and cold weather. So we asked students and staff if they like cold or warm weather and why they like either one.
Amira snappy said: “Warm because then I won’t get frostbite and I get to keep my toes.”
Zola Ahlers said: “Warm because then you can play outside.”
Finley Evenson took a minute to think but then said: “Warm because I can wear shorts.”
Stanley Cunningham said: “Cold because my birthday is then.”
Gia Abene quickly said, “Warm because it is summer break and I get to sleep all day.”
Damien Porter simply said, “Warm because then I’m not stuck inside and not freezing.”
Hayden Rossman quickly said, “In the middle because I do not like sweating when it’s really hot but I do not like when it’s really cold.”
Levi Royer took a minute but then said, “Warm because it is the first thing that came up to my mind.”
Mrs. Rocke said, “Both because I love the heart of the sun shining on my face but I love going out in the crisp cold winter to deer hunt.”
Jonah Evans simply said, “Cold weather because of the snow.”
