What Is the Best Holiday?
There are a lot of holidays that we celebrate, but what is your favorite? I asked some people what they think is the best holiday. Honestly, in my opinion, Christmas is my favorite holiday.
Christmas is an annual festival in which Christians celebrate the birth of Christ. It is held on December 25 in the United States.
Halloween takes place on the night of October 31, the eve of All Saints’ Day. It is commonly celebrated by children who dress in costumes and go door-to-door asking for candy.
Thanksgiving is an annual national holiday marked by religious observances and a traditional meal that includes turkey. The holiday commemorates a harvest festival celebrated by the Pilgrims in 1621 and is held in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. A similar holiday is celebrated in Canada, usually on the second Monday in October.
Easter is the most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is held between March 21 and April 25, on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox.
The Fourth of July, or Independence Day, is a U.S. national holiday celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.
Valentine’s Day is a cultural and religious holiday honoring love and romance.
New Year’s Day is the first day of the year; in the modern Western calendar, it falls on January 1.
