This week, we decided to interview one of the teachers here at Eureka Middle School. We chose Mr. Troutt. He has been a teacher here for 23 years. In total, not just at EMS, he has been teaching for 27 years. Before that, he spent time in the Military. He is also the girls’ Golf coach at the high school. We wanted to know more about him, so we interviewed him and asked him some questions and what his favorite things to do are. Here is what he said.
What do you like to do in your free time?- “It depends on the time of year. If it’s summer, I play golf. During the school year, I listen to audiobooks when I travel between home and school. I also love to watch movies with my wife.”
What is your favorite animal?- “Dogs to own. Manatees to watch.”
What is your favorite food?- “Pizza, unless it is only cheese. Yuck!!”
What are your favorite sports?- “I love many sports. I love super speedway NASCAR racing (Daytona and Talladega), playoff hockey and baseball, college football, Olympic swimming and track and field, and Australian Rules Football.”
What is your favorite sports team?- “I’m a fan of the StL Cardinals and KC Royals in baseball, KC Chiefs in football, StL Blues in Hockey, Florida State in college football, and Manchester City in the EPL.”
What is your favorite song?- “All time – ‘Telephone Line’ by the Electric Light Orchestra; Currently – ‘This’ by Darius Rucker
Who is your favorite singer?- “Jimmy Buffett”
If you could meet one person, who would it be?- “Alive – Richard Petty; Dead – Louis Zamperini”
What is your favorite color?- “Purple”
If you could say one thing to the whole world, what would it be?- “It’s not all about you.”
What’s your dream car?- “1970 Dodge Charger”
Would you rather teach another subject? If so, what would it be and why?- “No. I love teaching history. I’ve taught other levels and would not change to a different subject.”
