What is the Best Soda?
There are a lot of soda brands, so I asked some people what they think is the best soda. Honestly, in my opinion, Coke, Sprite, and Starry are the best sodas.
Coca-Cola, or “Coke,” is a popular, globally recognized sweetened, carbonated soft drink manufactured by The Coca-Cola Company. The company sells Coca-Cola syrup and concentrate to bottlers worldwide, who mix it with purified water, sweeteners like sugar or high-fructose corn syrup, and carbon dioxide to create the final carbonated beverage before packaging.
Pepsi is a popular carbonated cola-flavored soft drink manufactured by PepsiCo. First invented in 1893 by pharmacist Caleb Bradham in North Carolina, it was initially sold as “Brad’s Drink” before being renamed Pepsi-Cola in 1898, named for its supposed ability to relieve dyspepsia (indigestion). Today, it is a globally recognized brand made from carbonated water, sweeteners (like sugar or high-fructose corn syrup), caramel color, phosphoric and citric acids, caffeine, and natural flavors.
Sprite is a popular lemon-lime soft drink produced by the Coca-Cola Company.
Dr. Pepper is America’s oldest major soft drink, created in 1885 in Waco, Texas, by pharmacist Charles Alderton, who was inspired by the smell of fruit syrups at his drugstore. It is known for its unique blend of 23 flavors, giving it a distinctive sweet and slightly spicy taste that is unlike colas or other fruit-flavored sodas. The exact formula is a closely guarded secret, with parts of it stored in separate bank vaults.
Starry is a crisp, clear, caffeine-free lemon-lime soda produced by PepsiCo that launched in January 2023, replacing Sierra Mist. Available in both Regular and Zero Sugar versions, Starry is known for its refreshing flavor, targeted toward a younger demographic, and has become the sponsor of the NBA’s Three-Point Contest.
