Hello EMS!
This week we are interviewing people in Band! We asked them a few questions: What is your favorite part of band? What do you play? And what are you learning right now? We are excited to see their answers and learn more about what they do in band. Let’s see what they have to say!
Audrey Palomo:
“I love getting to play my instrument and the friends I have made in band! The instrument I play is the flute. The current piece we are learning is Danny Elfman, which is very hard…”
Bristol Voorhees:
“I play the trumpet, and my favorite part of band is playing music that I like and want to sing along to. Right now, we are learning Halloween music, and I LOVE playing Ghostbusters on my trumpet.”
Georgia Goveia:
“My favorite part of band is getting to play fun music with a bunch of people I’ve been playing with for a while. I play the clarinet, and right now we are learning music for our Halloween concert.”
Anna Stapel:
“I love to hear the band play as one, and it’s really fun when we do echoes and when we get the melody. I play the flute, and right now, as Bristol said, we are learning Halloween music.”
Stella Hostetler:
“My favorite part of band would probably be when we are just learning a new song and I figure out which one is my favorite. The songs get stuck in my head the rest of the day, and I smile whenever I realize I’m humming them. I play trumpet, and right now we are learning songs like the theme from Ghostbusters, Ghost Chasers, the theme from Avengers (my favorite), and Scooby-Doo, Where Are You.“
Lucy Wurmnest:
“I play the clarinet!!! My favorite part of band is getting to play the high notes and getting the melody. We are currently playing Halloween music including Ghost Chasers, Ghostbusters, Scooby-Doo, and The Avengers. I love band so much!”
Alexis Lehigh:
“My favorite part of band is the concerts. I play snare drum, and the pieces I’m learning right now are Bakken Overture and DaySpring.“
Aaron Stoller:
“My favorite part of band is the Halloween concert! I play the trombone. We are learning a few Halloween songs.”
Jaxon Thornhill:
“My favorite part of band is hanging out with friends you make, playing instruments, and getting better every day.”
William Maynor:
“My favorite part of band is the people (who are mostly nice!). I play trombone, and we are learning songs like Scooby-Doo, Ghostbusters, and Avengers.“
Lily Zacha:
“My favorite part of band is playing the songs and learning new things. I play many different percussion instruments. In percussion class, we are learning Bakken Overture, Dayspring, and five-minute warm-ups.”
Grace Waters:
“My favorite part is the IGSMA competition. I play trombone, and we are learning a few Halloween songs.”
Gabrielle English:
“My favorite part about band is how funny Mr. Wyland is, and the fun music pieces we play (not the slow ones—I HATE the slow ones!).”
Leela Hinzman:
“I think my favorite part about band is the Halloween songs we are doing right now. I play the oboe, and it’s really fun because I get to play flute parts sometimes.”
