The Beechcraft King Air 260 is the smallest of the King Air family of aircraft. It can take off in 2,111 feet, the shortest takeoff distance of any King Air. It holds 9 people, 2 of them being the pilot and copilot. It has a range of 1720 nm. (1979 miles) and a top speed of 310 knots (269 mph). 1720 nm is about the same as flying to Alaska. It can carrier 3760 lbs. This plane has one of the BEST interiors. This is one of the cheaper planes on the list at 7.05 million.
4:Cessna Citation XLS Gen2
Thsi plane is THE fastest plane available to the civilian market (The Panavia Super Tornado doesn’t count because it is a retired military aircraft.) It has a top speed of 441 knots (507.94 mph). It has a maximum range of 21,00 nm (2416.6 miles). it can carry 12 passengers and has an impressive interior. The interior controls are completely wireless. You control everything from a touchpad. The seats have built-in phone chargers, not USB ports, and a couch! This is one of the best civilian aircraft you can buy.
3: P-61B Black Widow
My opinion on this plane is possibly a little biased Because this is my 2nd favorite plane of all time. This is one of the most maneuverable planes of the time. This was caused because the airelons could move almost twice as much as most planes. The P-61 has a climb speed of 2090 feet per minute! It’s armed with four 20mm Hispano cannons and four 2.7mm browning machine guns. it isn’t legal to have functional weaponry on the plane but you can still own the plane.
2: Fieseler Fi 156 Storch
The Fieseler Storch is a WW2 era German reconnaissance plane. It has a top speed of 94.7 Kt. That is incredibly fast for the time and still holds up today. For comparison, A Cessna 172 (a common light plane) has a top speed of 50Kt. The main reason I like the Storch is because of its short takeoff and landing capabilities (STOL). (If you’re reading this article, come see Mrs. Regier for a green slip. The first 5 get a green slip!) The Storch can take off in 150ft and land in 60ft. This is a good plane for those who only have a small runway (or are history nerds).
1: Pannavia Super Tornado
The Pannavuia super tornado is a British fighter plane. It has a top speed of 1261 kt. (1452 mph) And a range of 800 Nm (920 miles.) The Gr1 has 17 mounts for hardpoints and can carry 9000 lbs of external munitions. It has up to 2 WKA-Mauser 27mm cannons (You have to plug them with cement or it isn’t legal) This is my favorite modern plane and balances speed, range, and weaponry. It was retired in 2019. If you want one of these yourself it will cost you upwards of 40 million dollars.
