Girls Basketball is now in season!

They have practice\games every week 5 days out of the week. Coach Gundy, who coaches 7th grade, has been coaching basketball for 11 years. He said that the season for 7th is going well; 7th grade has won 7 games so far! He said that their best game this season was against Washington Middle, they had so much energy and played really hard the entire game.

I interviewed 7th grader Kia Boles that plays for the team, and asked her a couple of questions about basketball. Kia plays a guard or a point guard, and she says that is her favorite position to play. Her favorite part about being on basketball is the team, which is also what Brookelyn Sauder said. Brookelyn plays five & center, and five

& center is also her favorite position to play. The 7th grade team has a winning record of 11-7, and the 8th grade team has a winning record of 20-1. Coach Bayre, who coaches 8th, says the team has been doing very well this season. He said that their best game this season was against Morton.

8th grader Ivy Edwards who plays Point Guard & Wing, started playing basketball at her house when she was just 6 or 7. Ivy says she loves basketball and would like to play it in college if she has the opportunity. 7th and 8th play games pretty frequently, so if you would like to watch a game and go cheer our players on, you will have plenty of chances!
