Pop Tabs Fundraiser- Ronald McDonald House
October 14, 2022
Student Council is about to start collecting pop-tabs for Ronald Mcdonald House. You might be wondering, what even is Ronald McDonald House?
According to their website, The RMHC (Ronald McDonald House Charity) is “a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. They help families physically, economically, and emotionally during their healthcare journey.”
The RMHC is 47 years old and has 685+ programs in 60 different counties/regions. They have 74,000 volunteers across the globe. The RMHC has three primary programs.
They have 380+ Ronald McDonalds House Programs are temporary homes for families who travel far from home for their child’s medicare. They have 265+ Ronald McDonald Family Room Programs which are like homes right in the hospital, giving them a private place to relax. They have 40+ Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Programs which bring medical, dental, and healthcare resources to less fortunate communities.
“We believe that home is more than four walls and a roof over your head. That’s why every Ronald McDonald House is a safe haven that provides all the comforts of home, plus the compassion and hospitality of the staff, volunteers, and other families — all just steps away from the hospital.”
80 cents of each dollar goes to the program and last year, McDonald’s donated $168 million, which provided more than 1.8 million overnight stays for RMHC families. Even though Mcdonald’s is the RMHC’s biggest partner it is still a non-profit organization & its goal is not to make money.
The RMHC’s vision is to live in a world where all children have access to medical care and their families are supported and actively involved in their children’s care.
We have an upcoming pop-tab fundraiser which will go towards the RMHC, so please donate to that because it’s going to a good cause.
